I love camping. I like camping because it’s fun and I like sleeping in my dad’s sprinter. Last time I went camping was when I went to the Wallows. I caught a fish that was 18 inches long! We threw back a fish and an eagle came down and ate it right by our boat.
I love geology. Geology is the study of rocks. Rocks are AWESOME! My favorite rock is called smokey quartz. Every rock rocks! Here is a video from our rock field trip.

I love my family. My parents named me Van because they thought it was a really cool name. My first name is a Dutch name and also my last name is Dutch as well. My dad’s ancestors are from the Netherlands. My mom’s ancestors are from Italy, Greece and Germany. My grandpa’s family immigrated from Italy to New York and started one of the first horse drawn produce companies in the late 1800’s that lasted 9 decades.
